The People’s Public Health Conference
Join us for our upcoming conference:
The People's Public Health Conference provides a platform to democratize public health discussions and provide space for community-based and equity-focused action.
The Conference was created in response to other public health conferences that have met in person only, require costly admissions, and have lacked focus on controlling the pandemic.
The cost of large public health conferences is prohibitive for many community leaders, students, and un/underemployed public health leaders to attend.
Event registration involves a sliding scale registration of $25-55/person, and the additional opportunity to provide a tax-deductible donation to the Autoimmune Community Institute, our nonprofit organization dedicated to autoimmune health equity in community based research, services, and support.
Our Activities:
Community-Centered Research
We are a nonprofit institute focused on community centered research that supports the autoimmune community in a culturally-competent manner, in a way that nurtures trust and inclusion in the research process.
We design community-based research that includes the autoimmune community from beginning to end of the process.
Community Support
Providing for urgent health needs during the COVID-19 pandemic means ensuring availability of hand sanitizers, disinfecting products, protective gear, and delivery services to the immunocompromised and disabled.
Monthly support group to support our diverse autoimmune community.
We support our community with crucial donation-based supplies for health and well-being.
Public Health Equity
Serving our communities through national and international events such as the Autoimmune Health Equity Summit and the People’s Public Health Conference.
We advocate to bring awareness to public health equity needs, autoimmune representation, and quality of life.
ABOUT US
The Autoimmune Community Institute was founded by Dr. April Moreno Arellano, a public health and informatics researcher of autoimmune public health equity.
About Our Board of Directors
Our Board is a diverse group of professionals with decades of experience in nonprofit administration, public health, policy, research, and autoimmune disease awareness. The Board includes several different autoimmune disease diagnosis communities living the daily aspects of these conditions.
